Beachscape... Maxima Aqua Fun...

We often want a place to relax. Feel the heat of the sun. Feel the air brushing our skin. We sometimes want to escape from the busy city we live in. And so here some of the beaches in Island Garden City of Samal. Its a 15-30 minutes boat ride from Davao City.

The Maxima Aqua Fun. There are swimming, kayaking, fishing and snorkeling. Enjoy the giant slide that gets you dive to the abyss. But don't worry, there are lifeguards around to keep you safe.

Next is the sunset that shadows the shore... The tranquility of the sea really soothes your senses. Big help to recharge from a stressful career life. hehe

The boat that you see in this picture is the one for island hopping. Didn't have a chance for this island hopping adventure because there is reservation beforehand.

Summer is almost over. Hope you can have your get away too!

Up!

I just reminiscing riding an airplane! And these are some of the planes that brought me to my vacation destinations. hehehe

Cebu Pacific Air. This airline is one of the cheapest in the Philippines. Or should I say, the cheapest? It is the first local airline that introduced e-ticketing (no tickets! only print-outs!). It has fun up in the sky. they called it Fun Flights in domestic carriers. Games games games with prizes. :]

Silkair. Route: Davao-Cebu-Singapore. I like their food. Burp! Going to Sigapore is quite a long trip for me because it took 3 hours in the air! But it is worth it because Singapore is promising. And I love staying there!

Hongkong Express. This was taken in Ninoy Aquino International Airport. I can't forget this trip because we slept in the airport! We arrived in Manila around after lunch time. And it will be costly if we stay in a hotel because our flight the next day was very early. Around 7:30am! I enjoyed watching cabin crew with different uniforms. hehehe Anyway, going to Hongkong is scary. Lots of air packets. But its ok. I enjoyed staying in Hongkong!

I treasured this photo because this is the only photo I got up in the sky! Hope I can renew my passport again (it expired last March 2011). And I also hope I can still have a vacation with my family. I really want my next stop is in Europe!

My Birthday Adventure (Part 3)

Well, I think this is my last post for my birthday adventure. And this is all about creatures that we found during our vacation.

Got this photo of a frog at the first falls. I found this interesting because it camouflaged the wall of the falls. This is very small. About two-inch I think.

Little spidy near the falls. Very very small spider. I had a hard time focusing the subject. But thanks to camera. It works!

I don't know what kind of sea creature is this. I like the colorful spikes! They won't hurt you. They said this can be eaten. I wonder what's the taste of this...

The last but not the least.. This is my favorite shot! Sea Urchin.

Anyways, today is Mother's day. Happy Mother's Day to my mom and to all moms out there!

My Birthday Adventure (Part 2)

This my part 2. And its all about "dusk in Sigaboy". A thirty-minute ride from the falls.

I found very fascinating this mangrove tree. I wanted to explore the exposure feature of my camera. And this is what I've got!

Its a rain! A heavy rainfall in the sea. I thought this rain will be coming after us. Fortunately, its going away from us because of the wind direction. It's windy. It's cold. But the party continues!

Next is the horizon. It is an open sea from the southeastern part of the Philippines. They called this region Davao Oriental. I was in the cottage, while all of them are busy drinking "tuba", its a native wine from coconut. Kinda sour but tastes ok. hehehe Anyways, this picture of the horizon is one of the things I will be missing. There are a lot of seafoods, the clear waters. And the fun with my friends.

My Birthday Adventure (Part 1)

Last April 21, we went to Sigaboy, Davao Oriental for an adventure. And yes! we had a lot of fun and trekking!

Sunrise in Davao Oriental! We travelled early in the morning so that it will not be so hot. We arrived early and did some swimming during high noon! I don't care about sunburns! Just excited to swim in the the clear waters!

The next day, trekking going to the falls! There are two falls. First falls, about 30-45 mins hike.. This falls below is small but deep. Kinda eerie because it is in the small cave.

This falls is like 20 mins hike from the first falls. Much higher and much colder! Feels like I'm having a back massage when hitting the flowing water! hehehe

I enjoyed picking up some seashells. There are starfishes, sea urchins, sea cucumber and many more!

This is the best birthday adventure! And hope I'll be back here...

Stingray.. So cute but deadly...

I got these pictures when I had my vacation in Manila. STINGRAY.

Stingrays are commonly found in the shallow coastal waters of temperate seas. They spend the majority of their time inactive, somewhat buried in sand, habitually moving only with the wave of the tide. The stingray's coloration commonly reflects the seafloor's shading, camouflaging it from voracious sharks and larger rays. Their flattened bodies are composed of pectoral fins joined to their head and trunk with an legendary tail trailing at the back.

When a stingray attacks, it needs to be facing its victim, because all it does is flip its long tail upward over its body so it strikes whatever is in front of it. The ray doesn't have straight managed over the sting mechanism, only over the tail. In most cases, when the sting enters a person's body, the pressure causes the protective sheath to tear. When the sheath tears, the sharp, serrated edges of the spine sink in and venom flows into the wound causing a serious damage. The most vicious part of the sting mechanism can actually be the barbs on the spine. Even if venom weren't involved at all, pulling the spike out of a human's chest or abdomen could be enough to cause death from the massive tearing of tissue.

Flaming Fire

FIRE has been a significant element of all cultures and religions from pre-history to modern day and was fundamental to the progress of civilization. It has been regarded in many diverse contexts throughout olden times, but especially as a metaphysical constant of the world.
This element distinguishes itself in its immense warmth, and its capacity to provide radiance in darker situations. Its warmth and light can be very supportive of life, but when out of control can become relatively destructive. The inner light of this element can make fire individuals appears quite self-reliant, confident, self-assured and even assertive. It also makes it self-expressive and highly enthusiastic.
Fire is also an spontaneous and a treacherous element, that can rage and all of a sudden burst. Fire is persistent and exhilarating and extremely not restrained. It is seen as the power blazing inside us, giving us an iron strength of will to go for our goals, bestowing upon us the passion to do it with all of ourself, resulting in the principle and liberty to do it without backstabbing and with an open face.
This is the one element that is never taken for granted. Then of course we cannot ignore the negative power that fire exerts. In other words – fire is an element that is to be treated with the utmost of respect, and must never be considered “tame”.

Element: WATER

The element of water is expressed in dark blues and black. These colors invite personal wisdom. The energy of water element is represented by any shape that produces flow. Still water energy is represented by any shape that would holds water and creates a womb like effect. Moving water shapes are drawn as cascades or ripples. This energy flows to the sides and down.
Water is often also interpreted as the purest form of liquid, as the "primal liquid", which only appears in different shapes and forms, but in its transformation always retains its basic elemental properties.
Water stands, like Fire, for deep, but also for variable, or - expressed in a positive way - "open" emotions, for the acceptance of diversity and the will for the new. Water also represents the contemplative moment, the searching in your inner self, for the discovering of the deepest and darkest things of yourself but also for unleashed chaos, for uncertainty without a goal.
Water is about tranquility, gentleness and compassion, the blossoming of an open heart. It is about love, and above all the love of giving for its' own sake, and without conditions.

Garden Beauty

I'm bored during this day. And so I grabbed by camera and relaxed in our garden. Ask myself, "what i'm going to do? I have no "trip" for this day." I saw the moon. It's a new moon. An ordinary new moon. And here it is!
The yellowbell flower grows just along our gate. It's an ordinary flower that crawls our fence. I like this photo because i got this at sunset. I really like the colors.
Our grotto during at night... I like the shadows created.

It's a Beautiful Day!

Yup! that's right! It's a beautiful day. No more rain showers. For the past 2 weeks, almost every day is a gloomy day. So blessed that today is just a beautiful day. My laundry are all dried. hehehe We had lunch together with my family at Mintal, Davao City. Got a crave for a deep fried "pantat" or they called it catfish.
A rooster! A view from my window every morning. I like this photo because of the strong "personality" i think that this rooster projects!
And of course, the Majestic Mt. Apo! When I noticed the color of the Mt. Apo, I immediately grabbed my camera and here ye!
This Sunday, I thank our Creator for this wonderful things around us. The sunrise. A new day to live by... **wink**
