Completed Staff Work

Well, you may wonder what gotten into me why this is my topic. I attended a seminar yesterday about Completed Staffwork. And I enjoyed and learned a lot from the workshop. Simple things may be complicated.

Completed staffwork is the total analysis and preparation of a task a person/team so that after their presentation of the solution all that remains to be done by the next level of management is to agree the action/solution proposed.

So what are the key steps?
>> being clear on what you're about to do
>> you should be addressing on a right person
>> if some points that are unclear, consult with those directly and indirectly involved
>> communicate in the right way
>> be brief and to the point
>> your boss and anyone else involved should be informed
>> you should follow up agreed points
>> you should meet customer's requriements
>> review what you did frequently

Just simple points to remember when at work.

Amazing Nature

I'm an avid fan of National Geographic Channel Asia. I really like how they took shots. I am amazed how they got their best shots. Two thumbs up for their professional photographers!! And so, here I am, inspired.. I am sharing some of my collections.

Spider... This one is really big from ordinary spider we saw in our backyard or attic. At first, I'm afraid to get near. But hey! what's the use of the zoom of the camera???? hehehehe
This snail really caught my attention! A snail gliding on a stem! Captured moment i guess!

You and Me

Another year passed... Another year ahead...
I'm thankful that I found you. There are some misunderstandings. But I hope these will be tests to our relationship. I guess meeting you is an extraordinary event. And I hope this dream will be forever.

Thank you for making me strong in times that I want to give. For your patience, even if sometimes you made me cry for bullying me. At the end, you're the sweetest person I've ever met. For the time you spent with me. I'm hard-headed. But still you managed to handle me.

You're a blessing. You're heaven's gift to me. Thank you for coming.

Happy New Year!

After 10 years...

Its been 10 years since our high school graduation. Meeting Old Friends and classmates from ADDU HS Batch 2000. It was a fun night! A lot of reminiscing. A lot of laughing. At first, I was planning not to attend. Maybe it will be awkward. That I'm not confident enough to mingle. But I'm thankful that my close friends insisted that I should be there. Its our batch reunion. And it will only happens once in a lifetime. hehehehe

A lot of picture takings. A lot of people changed. How they look. Their professions. Their status in life. I enjoyed observing people.

I'm gonna miss these people. And hope after 25 years, people will be the same.
4Red people! Till we meet again classmates!

Christmas Nature Tripping

It is known as "Monkey-Eating Eagle". Some said it is the World's Noblest Flier. It is also called as "Haribon" which means "Hari ng Ibon" (King of Birds). And proud to say, it is our National Bird.

Other birds in the sanctuary. We are so lucky that these birds were saved.

The majestic and powerful Philippine Eagle now faces a peril to its survival. The deforestation in the country, unsystematic logging, illegitimate hunting, and its low reproduction rate has been slowly eradicating the unconquerable Haribon from existence

Let us save our wildlife because these animals are treasures of our country.

Yeah It's Me!

Got this pix after our Christmas Party. This is taken by one of my officemate at the entrance of Northcrest Subd. (One of the projects our company is developing). And this is me!

Well, no camera tricks. No editing. When I saw this, I was amazed by the effect. I think because the camera was moved before the click or flash.

This day was a memorable day for because of some of the events happened. The games, the raffle draws, the good news that was announced by our big boss, walking halfway towards the amenities area with all the afternoon sunlight. Whew! It was a long day. But I had very much fun!

I Value Communication

Here some tips that could help communication gap in a relationship. Hope this can help you.

1. Practice attentive listening. – giving your partner your full attention. Encourage them with your eyes, explain the problem, with providing what you assume you have heard, summarizing and paraphrasing what they have said and say: Did I understand you exactly?

2.Be at rest, end all other activities. – Do not do something while talking to each other. Stop and have an eye contact. It seems easy and it is very powerful.

3.Honesty – ask yourself whether it is a time for you to be truly present for your partner, when he or she wants to talk to you. If you can’t give them your complete attention then say no. Say it with love and respect.

4.Listen with an empty cup. – even if you heard it a hundred times, listen as if you don’t know it, haven’t heard of it before.

5.Speak from the heart – Listen to your feelings before speaking.

6.Time for the truth – think whether the other person is ready to hear what you will tell them. If you think he’s not, then, leave it for now.

7.Leave the past behind – past is past. Value the present.

8.Make time – Do have quality time with each other. Make sure that you have an equal amount of time to spend with each other.

9.Learn more about communication – we are still learners. There are still a lot that we ought to know about communication.

10.Say Thank You – it is a gratitude that will enhance relationship. Saying Thank you means you value the time you spent with each other.

Its Christmas Time Again

Its December... Its Christmas time again. People start decorating. People start caroling. And people start giving gifts.

Some started decorating as early as September. When the "Ber" months come, then its Christmas time again. But me, I started decorating our home only this December. Our cute Christmas tree. The christmas lights outside our house and at our "Mango Tree". Its a good feeling there is a spirit of Christmas.

Hope this season will be exciting, blessed and a time for love. These decors are only part of it. And Im very much thankful that this Christmas, our family is complete. Got all of my wishlist (lucky for me. :]).

Merry Christmas everyone!

My Long Time WishList

Its been 10 years since I wanted this camera! At last! got it as a Christmas Gift from my Dad. Im so happy because this is my hobby. I love taking pictures. Since college, I really wanted to have like this. This is always my dream cam. I used to take pictures using compact camera.

When I was in college, I just watch people having this cam and wish hope someday I can have it. Im sooo happy that it was given to me as a gift. Because here in the Philippines, cams like this is very expensive. Only a few can afford it. That's why its a dream for me to have it. Next step: to study more on photography! yippeeeee!!!

Thanks to my dad. I love it! Nice to have you SONY A33. :]

Just Another Day...

I just want to write about nothing. That's why I'm taking this chance to sit, type and write things that comes into my mind. Got a lot today. Rushing reports for deadline. Just have my performance evaluation from my boss. Got my "kris-kringle" for the christmas exchange gifts. Had a walk down the hill from our office to get a ride. Whew! I wonder what would it be tomorrow? hehehe

Just another day to check my Facebook account. Just another day for my blogging business. Just another day to be with me.

Its been a long time to feel what's inside me. Yeah, I feel good. I feel guilty. That's weird. But yes. It's true. There are things complicate my life. That's my TREK... Trekking my life is not an easy road to take. There might be bumpy roads. Dark woods. But somehow there are beautiful things like valley, meadows and chirping birds. To the one who thinks that life is dark, if you think you made a wrong decision, go back. Detour. Maybe there's another road that just meant for you... You just have the wrong one that made you learned the right one...

Trek life.

The Towering Tower

I was amazed when I got this picture when I went for a vacation in Hongkong last June 2010. It was rainy and fog is seen. When we were on a tour, this caught my attention. The tower and the clouds met. I wonder what's the feeling being on top with clouds outside...

Here in Davao, we don't have that high rise structures. We have buildings but none of them met the clouds! Hope I can still visit Hongkong in the future. I had a lot of fun staying in Hongkong.

Pacquiao-Margarito Fight

This is the "the talk of the town". Or shall I say "the talk of the country". I enjoyed watching news, hearing polls and their bets. I'm not into boxing sports but its fun hearing people cheering within their own homes, people are in unity in stadiums, along the streets, people stop to watch and cheers. I hope this fight would be fair and may the best win. Good luck Congressman Pacman & God bless!

Enjoying Basketball

High school basketball has a lot of fun for me. Cheer for your school during tournaments. Go wild! Be aggressive! That’s why I love to watch basketball live than on television. Everybody cheers. I can feel the excitement as the time runs.

Universities have their own names for their team. Some teams used “Blue Devils”. Blue Devils are widely renowned in American College Sports. Others named their team as “Texas Longhorns”. This team experienced significant success during the early decades of its survival, but its success in the contemporary time is of somewhat recent traditional. Another team, the “Iowa Hawkeyes” have enjoyed the successes of eight Big Ten reqular-season conference championships. Mascots are usually used to put the school in a distinctive position. Like the “Gonzaga Bulldogs”, the team has a mascot named “Zags” which is very popular in marketing materials, fans and television announcers.

Try to get the best seat every game and cheer for your favourite team! Bring your friends and join the fun!

SONG OF THE WITCHES

Double, double toil and trouble;
Fire burn and caldron bubble.
Fillet of a fenny snake,
In the caldron boil and bake;
Eye of newt and toe of frog,
Wool of bat and tongue of dog,
Adder's fork and bling-worms sting,
Lizard's leg and howlet's wing,
For a charm of powerful trouble,
Like a hell-broth boil and bubble.
Double, double toil and trouble;
Fire burn and caldron bubble.
Cool it with a baboon's blood,
Then the charm is firm and good.

Macbeth: IV.i. 10-19; 35-38

A Story to Live By...

There was a blind girl who hated herself because she was blind.
She hated everyone, except her loving boyfriend. He was always there for her. She told her boyfriend, 'If I could only see the world, I will marry you.'

One day, someone donated a pair of eyes to her. When the bandages
came off, she was able to see everything, including her boyfriend.

He asked her, 'Now that you can see the world, will you marry me?'

The girl looked at her boyfriend and saw that he was blind. The
sight of his closed eyelids shocked her. She hadn't expected that.
The thought of looking at them the rest of her life led her to refuse
to marry him.

Her boyfriend left in tears and days later wrote a note to her
saying: 'Take good care of your eyes, my dear, for before
they were yours, they were mine.'

This is how the human brain often works when our status changes.
Only a very few remember what life was like before, and who
was always by their side in the most painful situations.

Life Is a Gift

Today before you say an unkind word - Think of someone
who can't speak.

Before you complain about the taste of your food - Think of someone
who has nothing to eat.

Before you complain about your husband or wife - Think of someone
who's crying out to GOD for a companion.

Today before you complain about life - Think of someone
who died too early on this earth.

Before you complain about your children - Think of someone
who desires children but they're barren.

Before you argue about your dirty house someone didn't clean or
sweep - Think of the people who are living in the streets.

Before whining about the distance you drive - Think of someone
who walks the same distance with their feet.

And when you are tired and complain about your job - Think of the
unemployed, the disabled, and those who wish they had your job.

But before you think of pointing the finger or condemning another - Remember that not one of us is without sin.

And when depressing thoughts seem to get you down - Put a smile
on your face and think: you're alive and still around.

Believe in Yourself

There are days when we are getting up in the morning,
and realize that things are not the way we are hoping would be.

And we keep telling ourselves that things will get better.
There are also times when a person disappoints us and will let us down.

But those were the times when you just remind yourself
to trust your own judgments and opinions,
keeping your life focused on believing in yourself.

There will be challenges to face and changes to make in your life,
and it is up to you to allow them.

Relentlessly remain yourself headed in the right direction for you.
It may not be simple at times,
but in those times of struggle
you will find a stronger wisdom of who you are.

So when the days come that are filled with frustration
and unexpected responsibilities,
learn by heart to believe in yourself
and all you want your life to be.

Because the challenges and changes will only help you
to find the goals that you know are meant to come true for you.

Keep Believing in Yourself…

Letting Go...

To let go doesn't mean to stop caring;
It means I can't do it for someone else.
To let go is not to cut myself off...
It's the realization that I can't control another...
To let go is not to enable,
but to allow learning from natural consequences.
To let go is to admit powerlessness,
which means the outcome is not in my hands.
To let go is not to try and change or blame another,
I can only change myself.
To let go is not to care for, but to care about.
To let go is not to fix, but to be supportive.
To let go is not to judge,
but to allow another to be a human being.
To let go is not to be in the middle arranging all the outcomes,
but to allow others to affect their own outcomes.
To let go is not to be protective,
It is to permit another to face reality.
To let go is not to deny, but to accept.
To let go is not to nag, scold, or argue,
but to search out my own shortcomings and correct them.
To let go is not to adjust everything to my desires,
but to take each day as it comes and cherish the moment.
To let go is not to criticize and regulate anyone,
but to try to become what I dream I can be.
To let go is not to regret the past,
but to grow and live for the future.
To let go is to fear less and love more.

IF

If you can keep your head when all about you
.. Are losing theirs and blaming it on you;
If you can trust yourself when all men doubt you,
.. But make allowance for their doubting too;
If you can wait and not be tired by waiting,
.. Or, being lied about, don't deal in lies,
Or, being hated, don't give way to hating,
.. And yet don't look too good, nor talk to wise;

If you can dream - and not make dreams your master;
If you can think - and not make thoughts your aim;
If you can meet with triumph and disaster
.. And treat those two impostors just the same;
If you can bear to hear the truth you've spoken
.. Twisted by knaves to make a trap for fools,
Or watch the things you gave your life to broken,
.. And stoop, and build 'em up with worn-out tools;

If you can make one heap of all your winnings
.. And risk it on one turn of pitch-and-toss,
And lose, and start again at your beginnings
.. And never breathe a word about your loss;
If you can force your heart and nerve and sinew
.. To serve your turn long after they are gone,
And so hold on when there is nothing in you
.. Except the Will which says to them: "Hold on!"

If you can talk with crowds and keep your virtue,
.. Or walk with kings - nor lose the common touch;
If neither foes nor loving friends can hurt you;
.. If all men count with you, but none too much;
If you can fill the unforgiving minute
.. With sixty seconds' worth of distance run
Yours is the Earth and everything that's in it,
.. And - which is more - you'll be grown up my child!
