Cebu City - Revisited

After our Bohol Tour, we spend overnight at Cebu City. We only visited a few places near our hotel. Only a night and a half day to spend. Here are some of the must-see places in Cebu.
Experience a Skywalk Adventure at Crown Regency Hotel & Resort. My colleagues took the sky rides, the Edge Coaster and the Sky Walk Extreme. A very nice view of the cityscape during night.
Cebu IT Park at night. This is a lifestyle destination to those who loves dining out, recreations, boutiques and some establishments that offers employments like call centers and outsourcing services.
The Taoist temple is open to public. There is a ritual here where one can pray to gods to grant his wish. Here you can view the Port of Cebu and some tall buildings. This is popular because a lot of schools held their field trips here and even one of the places that travel tours offers to visit.
We visited Basilica Sto. Nino. It was Sunday. We didn't expect how plenty of people! This is what I got using my cellphone camera. At least I had one! The Magellan's Cross. This cross is only a replica. Others believe that the original cross has been destroyed. Others believe that it disappeared after Magellan's death. This cross signifies that the Spaniards successfully colonized the Philippines.
This is the end of our tour. Hope that I can visit out of town places sometime this year.

Baclayon Church - Bohol Philippines

One of my treks in life is visiting some old churches. Aside from the Sto. Nino Church in Cebu, I was really amazed with this one. Its like I traveled way back in 15th century. This is Baclayon Church. It is one of the preserved church by the Jesuits.
The entrance is very historic. The walls are blocks made of coral stones. Very good foundation because it stands for centuries!
Inside the church is very solemn. There is an emblem of the Jesuits, "Ad Majorem Dei Gloriam" (For the Greater Glory of God). I remembered this because I graduated from a school run by Jesuits, Ateneo de Davao University. When I entered the church, I do have goose bumps! Very nice experience to enter in the second oldest church here in Philippines.
According to the elders, this door is the entrance to the horse stables, kitchen and even jail. Because according to them, inside the church, there is a dungeon. It was used to punish natives who violated the rule of the Roman Catholic Church.
Another mysterious in this church is an image of Fr. Pio of Pietrelcina on one of the pillars of the church. He became famous for his stigmata. Stigmata is the Christ like wounds that bore in palm of ones hands. He is believed to have healing powers. He was canonized by Pope John Paul II on June 16, 2002.
This is a memorable experience in Bohol. Hope to visit more old churches someday..

Nature in Bohol

This is my third post about Bohol. All about nature.
This is the Alona Beach at Panglao. We arrived around sunset. And this is what I got! A beautiful sunset view that wants me to swim because of its gentle waves rushing to the shore.
The famous Chocolate Hills of Bohol! At last! What a wonderful creation. Amazing!
The Man-made Forest. I just love to see the leaves fall.. I want to take some photos of them falling but unfortunately we are catching up the time for the Loboc River Lunch!
Up close in personal.. A Tarsier in Tarsier Conservatory, Loboc, Bohol. Very cute!
Another first time in Bohol --- Crossing across a hanging bridge!! What freaks me most is that my colleagues are jumping and I'm in the middle of the bridge! Very nice experience! hehe
The Loboc River. Lunch while sailing along the river... Unforgettable experience with the floating restaurant!
Two thumbs up for Bohol Tour!

Bohol Bee Farm - Bohol, Philippines

Our next stop is the Bohol Bee Farm. We arrived here almost late in the afternoon. And unfortunately, the last batch of the tour has just started and we didn't made it. Well, we just ate ice cream, take note: Moringa flavor! In tagalog: Malunggay! Tastes delicious! Anyway, here are some of the photos that made me think of my dream home.. hehe
BEE MINE! This decor caught my attention. So sweet!
This is their diving area. I don't have an idea if this is a spring water. The water is very tempting for swimming.
Their lounge. Comfy and cozy.
Their restaurant.. It's like eating at home! With the fresh air around
Till my next feature!

Hinagdanan Cave - Bohol, Philippines

Our next stop is the Hinagdanan Cave. According to the locals, it is called Hinagdanan because it means "laddered". It is an underground cave with a beautiful lagoon inside.
Here are some of my photos inside the cave. Beautiful natural light from the cave's outside.
Amazing rock formations like these stalactites.
They said it is very cool to swim here. It was not tempting me. Know why? I don't know how true. But the locals told us it is 15 meters deep. I just dip my foot and feel its cool and relaxing water. :-)
Another amazing spot in the cave are these wall paintings. Kinda creepy.
Hope someday you can visit Bohol too. A two thumbs up for a vacation.

Davao's Treasures

Another year for Davao City! 75th Araw ng Dabaw. Life is Here.
I found it interesting to post some photos about my hometown. This picture came from the web. I don't have some photos of "Waling-Waling". It is an orchid. I included this because I think its year 2008 when Davao City had lanterns along the streets. These colorful lights caught my eyes when I came from Cebu. Amazing aerial view!
I love this! Davao won't be Davao without this exotic fruit name "Durian". At first, I hate its smell. Until I tasted it. Two thumbs up! But be careful. Over eating this fruit will lead to hypertension and high cholesterol. And thank you for this fruit because I heard, its helpful of patients with dengue and to those who has anemia. This fruit will help to increase platelet counts. I don't know if this is true. But a lot of people are telling this fruit can be an alternative medicine.
Another treasure is the famous monkey-eating eagle. Got this photo when we visit the sanctuary.
The last and most majestic scenery that Davao is famous with... The Mt. Apo. Highest mountain in the Philippines. Got my best shots.
Happy Araw ng Dabaw to all Dabawenyos!!! :-)

Little Pairs Treasured

Valentine's Day is just a day ahead. People are rushing to the malls to buy some stuffs and surprises for their loved ones. And again, it's raining outside. Planned to have a quick window shopping a while ago. Unfortunately, the rain is heavy. For sure, I will have a hard time for a cab.

Anyways, here are some of my treasured stuffs. Got my cam and had fun shooting. I love them! In pairs huh....

These are figurines. My friend gave it to me last 2005 I think.

This was a gift to me when I turned 18. It's been 10 years! More likely a jewelry box. It is a figurine..

I love collecting angels when I was in high school. Way back in the late 90's. I don't buy. It's in my wishlist. That's my close friends made sure that I would surely love their gifts!

This is my favourite photo! This is a key holder (The chain was lost!). This was a "friendship key holder" from my college friends. We always do have some things in common when coming to our class! I miss my friends...

These treasures are kept with care. I love collecting small things. It's the thought that really counts...
Happy Hearts Day Bloggers!!

Shopping at Novica

I was wondering last week why a lot of my visitors came from Rosa's Yummy Yums.. At first, I didn't mind. Until Rosa sent me a message to email her. There is something for me. I won a$50 worth of gift certificate from Novica. Again, I wondered and curious. When I opened the website, I like it! I'm a fan of National Geographic. I was really excited for the jewelry collection. I love their designs! I enjoyed browsing the items. Add them to my Wishlists. Someday.. I'll gonna buy them! hehehe

My first choice is this, Garnet and smoky quartz earrings, "Blossoming" by Nareerat. According to Novica, Garnet is believed to have properties that provide stability, grounding, and courage. Some cultures also associate garnet to sexuality, bounty and fertililty. I also chose quarts because it is my birthstone (April). Garnet, the stone of love and devotion. Quartz is an Energizer and Amplifier.

My other choice is the Pearl and amethyst beaded bracelet, 'Lilac Rose'. Pearl is a symbol of feminine wisdom. It symbolizes Honesty, Purity, Wisdom and Integrity. And I think that's why it is best for a bride to wear pearls during her wedding. Amethyst is a stone for spirituality. I like this stone because it is said that it can help reduce stress and bring calmness and clarity in times of confusion.

And the last.. The top 1 on my Wishlist for my Birthday... Garnet Heart Necklace, "My Love".
An exquisite necklace (according to Novica). Garnets seem to palpitate within a sterling heart. A declaration of love, this exquisite necklace is carefully crafted by Indian designer Neeru Goel.

Thank you Rosa for this wonderful gift certificate at Novica.. :-)
