It was my first time in Bohol! Two days full of memorable experiences.. March 16, 2012.. My first step in Bohol. hehe With my officemates, we decided to take a vacation. And here we are! Here are my photos in Dauis Church. I was really amazed in their architecture. As if I time traveled way back in centuries.
The ceiling of the church..
A wall painting of the Last Supper...
The spring water inside the church. Known for its miraculous healing power. Got one bottle for my family. It is not for sale. Just give money for a donation.

Lantaw Bukid Resort, Davao City

Another holiday. Another getaway to relax from city life. We chose Lantaw Bukid Resort, located at Los Amigos, Tugbok District, Davao City. A 30-minutes to an hour ride from downtown area, depending traffic situation. I think it is called Lantaw Bukid because "Lantaw" in our dialect here means "look" and "bukid" means mountain. And it's true. Overlooking nature.

Lantaw Bukid Resort has many amenities. There is a small pond for fishing "Hito" (Catfish), and also for boating. It has also a pool area for adults and kids. The kiddie pool is amazing because there is a fountain at its center. There is an open playground for all ages!

I love this place because it is very peaceful. Away from busy streets and traffic. Away from a stressful living just for a day. It is a fun way catching up with friends and family members. There are cottages if you just want to sit down and have a chat while eating. Or do some adventure or just swim and feel the heat of the sun.

I love Davao City! There's no place like home...

Windy and Chilly Christmas!

This day kinda cold and chilly. But of course, going to the beach is exciting! hehe here are some of my photos in Samal Island. Oh yes! A little bit windy while crossing the sea.. The waves are moderate. So its not so freaky for me. hehe
This is my first photo. Low tide..
Caliclic Resort. Caliclic, Babak, Island Garden City of Samal.
The wind start getting stronger. The tide is getting higher. And all of us are 10 meters away from the shore! Chilly...
At last, milder.. Back in taking pictures again! hehe
Back to Davao City.. But before going back, I took a picture of the Port of Davao... Lights onboard...

Merry Christmas to all!

A Past From a Present

These photos are in my photography gallery. Kind of nostalgic. It's like an old photograph of the present.

This photo is taken somewhere in Davao del Norte, Philippines. It became a past to us because this land was ours. But we have to give it up because it is very far from our home. This landscape had a vast rice field. Now, cavendish bananas is the source of income here.

This photo was taken by a bored person during lunch time. We had a seminar, and of course, having a break time with nothing to do will give you ideas to get out of boredom. And here it is! Two pairs of shoes.

The "El Salvador del Mundo Church". One of the oldest church here in Mindanao. Built in 1800's.

One of the ancestral homes in Camiguin, Philippines. A preserved ancestral heritage.

Thanks for visiting my blog. Happy blogging bloggers!

Camiguin (Island Born of Fire)

Camiguin is called "Born of Fire". Located in the Northern Mindanao, Philippines. It was created by volcanic eruptions and land movements. It is a small island with lots of natural resources. There are hot and cold springs, waterfalls, mountains and beaches. I like here because they have a simple living and peaceful atmosphere for the residents.

The famous Katibawasan Falls.

Sunken Cemetery. The large white cross is very historical. A cemetery was gone because of the eruption of Old Vulcan Daan in 1871. Very nice place especially during sunset.

White Island. Well, literally, it is white because of its sand. It changes its shape and size with the season. No trees, no shade.
But its worth coming for!

The place is very beautiful! You'll never regret staying in Camiguin!

Go For Camiguin!

I was scanning my photos. Stumbled with these pictures and suddenly wish for a summer vacation! My mind just want exploring somewhere. Enough out of the country escapade. I missed being with nature. Once visited Camiguin and I love it! That was 10 years ago. There are a lot new spots to hang out there, as what my friends told me. Last time we went there, only falls (Katibawasan Falls), hot spring(Ardent), hike (Mt. Hibok-hibok-my photo above) and their famous native delicacy (Pastel). Some people brought their tents and camp at the parks.

I recommend to visit Camiguin when you come in Philippines. There are a lot of resorts to spend the night. A lot of food trips and nature tripping. A truly get away from busy and stressful city life.

Christmas Nature Tripping

It is known as "Monkey-Eating Eagle". Some said it is the World's Noblest Flier. It is also called as "Haribon" which means "Hari ng Ibon" (King of Birds). And proud to say, it is our National Bird.

Other birds in the sanctuary. We are so lucky that these birds were saved.

The majestic and powerful Philippine Eagle now faces a peril to its survival. The deforestation in the country, unsystematic logging, illegitimate hunting, and its low reproduction rate has been slowly eradicating the unconquerable Haribon from existence

Let us save our wildlife because these animals are treasures of our country.
